This wonderful wheel is essentially an easy slide- chart to advise curators, conservators, and others responsible for historic, artistic, or cultural object in the event of an emergency or natural disaster. One side is titled Action Steps and outlines the critical stages of disaster responses (alerts, safety concerns, setting up command centers, stabilization, documentation, retrieval and protection, damage assessment, setting priorities, and tips when historic buildings are involved). The second side provides practical tips for handling different types of collections, including photographs, books & paper, natural history or specimen collections, organic materials, ceramic/ stone/ and metal, furniture, textiles, framed artwork, and electronic media.
