Description
Boxes are offered in all four of our solid fiber boards. The Grey/white .060 board is an alkaline buffered, lignin- and acid-free board with a pH of 8.5. It is the economical choice for paper-based collections. Our Lig-free Type I paper is completely lignin-free, and is also buffered with a minimum 3% calcium carbonate, and maintains a pH of 8.5. Use Lig-free Type I for paper-based artifacts, including books, maps, posters, or letters. Your best choice for all of your storage boxes is our (patented world-wide) MicroChamber board. This remarkable board is not only alkaline buffered and lignin-free, but its unique structure, which incorporates a proprietary molecular sieve, will actively contribute to the preservation of the collection by absorbing and neutralizing by-products of deterioration released by stored material. As a fourth option, Conservation Resources offers MicroChamber/Silversafe boxes. This box board was specifically designed for photographic articles, textiles, or similar protein-based artifacts. The exterior of the MicroChamber/Silversafe box is lignin- and sulfur-free, with alkaline buffering and a pH of 8.5. The inner surface is a neutral pH, non-buffered white cotton Silversafe paper.
*All of our papers, boards, and boxes pass PAT.
