Compact Disc Storage These shoe-box style boxes are offered in our .065 MicroChamber boxboard. MicroChamber boxes offer an advantage over other archival boards as only MicroChamber materials are able to trap and neutralize potentially harmful acids and other by-products of deterioration released by the CD itself over time. They have metal corners and 1-1/2in. detachable lids. These boxes have been redesigned and now have 1/4in. clearance at the top of the base, which allows easy removal of individual jewel cases from the full box. Each box measures 10 or 12 inches x 5-1/8 x 5-7/8. The 10 inch box will accommodate up to 25 folders, wrappers or standard jewel cases. The 2 flap folders and 3 flap wrappers are made from our .020 in. Lig-free Type I folder stock with a Volara foam center hub. The Box dividers are made from our .010 Lig-free Type I Folder stock and have a ½ inch full length tab for ease of identification. For greater protection when using jewel cases, consider placing one of our MicroChamber CD-Saver discs in each jewel case beneath the CD. These discs are available in packages of thirty, and will provide protection from deleterious effects of the by-products of deterioration, as well as from harmful off-gassing from the plastic cases the CDs are housed in.
