Flap Negative Enclosures Four-flap enclosures
wrap gently around film or glass plates with no seams and no adhesives. They
are offered in our traditional non-buffered, lignin-and sulfur-free .006 CRPP
paper, in alkaline buffered MicroChamber paper, and in
MicroChamber/Silversafe paper, a combination of the two most highly valued
compositions in conservation. In the MicroChamber/Silversafe enclosures, both
MicroChamber technology and Silversafe technology are integrated within one
single sheet (not laminated) of paper. The patented alkaline pH 8.5 tan
MicroChamber component with alkaline buffers and our proprietary hydrophobic,
acid-resistant zeolite molecular sieves provides the finest protection
available against acids, by-products of deterioration and pollutants. The
white Silversafe neutral pH, non-buffered cotton layer comprising the
interior surface of the enclosure provides security for those materials which
may have sensitivity to alkalinity. This style of housing is available with
two scores separated by 1/8
and 1/16 in. for glass plates, and with a single score for sheet film.
Special enclosures, #4F45i-NB or #4F45i-MC, are designed for sheet film and
have a 1/2
in. tab
at the top. The other enclosures simply fold into rectangles. Special sizes
can be fabricated upon request, so if the size you need is not listed, please
contact us with your requirements. Four-flap
enclosures are sold in packages of 50. |
